Kyle Busch will run 5 races in the Xfinity Series in the 2023 season, the maximum number that is allowed for a Cup Series driver.
Having previously said that he would retire from Xfinity Series when he wins 100 races, Busch is back to racing in the Xfinity Series again with the No. 10 Kaulig Racing entry.
Busch reached the number in the 2021 season when he won his 100th race. However, he was still committed to two more races, which he won too, thereby winning all five races that he raced that season. He didn’t race in the Xfinity Series in the 2022 season.
Trackhouse racing owner dismisses rumors of them switching to Toyota
However, he has decided to “unretire” by coming back to the series for five more races.
“I’m looking forward to having fun in the Xfinity Series again. What Matt Kaulig and Chris Rice have built in just a few short years at Kaulig Racing is impressive, and with the team’s alliance with Richard Childress Racing, this made for an easy decision to be back competing in a series that I’ve had success in over the years,” Kyle Busch said.

“Kyle Busch is a true competitor and will forever be known as one of the best – and winningest – NASCAR drivers of all time. We’re excited to have a former Cup and Xfinity Series champion bring his experience and knowledge to our team. There is no doubt in our minds that Kyle will help our Xfinity Program grow and contend for wins this year,” Kaulig Racing president Chris Rice said.
While some fans were happy to see their favourite driver racing more often, not everyone was happy with Busch’s decision. One fan said that Busch is doing it for his ego while another pointed out that it would have been better served to give Landon Cassill a chance at the No. 10 seat than Busch.
Kyle is washed in Cup, so he has to inflate his ego somehow.

I don't know who to thank more. I actually have a reason to watch some Friday and Saturdays now. With Noah G up in Cup Kyle coming back makes the lower races worth it a little more.

Some will have their qualms but this is great for the health of the Xfinity series and great for these young guys to go against a legend and see how they stack up.
