Kevin Harvick crew chief Rodney Childers is expecting a top-5 run and some stage points in the race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Harvick seems untouchable at the moment. His win at Bristol Motor Speedway was his ninth of the season and there are still seven races to go until the end of the season for the No. 4 Stewart-Haas Racing driver to extend his lead.
His two wins in the first round of the playoffs put him in a very comfortable position to advance the next round. But, complacency is not something common in the No. 4 team. As for the next race, Childers has set a goal of finishing in the top-5 and score some stage points.
“Vegas is one of those places that I feel like we can take a good car, we can have a solid day and hopefully get out of there with a good finish. Obviously we’ll try to win, but if we could get out of there with a top 5 and score some stage points along the way, that would be our goal.”
While winning is a cherry on the top for Harvick who would love to get his 10th win of the season, playing it same in the upcoming tracks will be enough for the team to qualify for the next round.
