“I’m tired of taking the blame from everybody” – Tony Stewart isn’t happy about the criticism he receives for SHR’s poor run in the Cup Series

Stewart–Haas Racing Co-owner Tony Stewart, whose team is coming off their first winless season since he joined the Company in 2009, refuses to take the blame for SHR’s ‘two miserable years in a row’.

Tony Stewart has received a lot of backlash for his team’s performance and the absence of leadership in the crew.

SHR’s most recent Cup victory came in August 2022 at Richmond thanks to the now retired Kevin Harvick. Stewart-Haas Racing is winless in the last 48 races.

Eleven different organizations have won at least one Cup race since SHR’s last victory.

Stewart has now come forward, firing back at the criticism he is getting for poor SHR winless streak.

“We’ve had two miserable years in a row and I’m tired of taking the blame from everybody on why the cars are not running good.” He said

“I think the fans need a reality check and reminder that I’m not the crew chief, the engineer”

“I don’t dictate the setups on the cars. I give these guys the tools to do the job and we just haven’t got it done the last couple of years.
